Nolan and I went to our 38 week appointment today to discover a bit of a change with our baby Riley. The Dr. said I was dilated at a 2! That's not all, he then asked if we wanted to encourage delivery... Nolan then replied with a goofy comment like usual " do you mean like "go you" or something? LOL I love my goofy husband.
Anyways, while the Dr. was what he liked to call "encouraging delivery" he noticed that he couldn't feel Rileys head anymore. So he said we needed to do an emergency ultrasound to confirm Riley had moved. We did an ultrasound and sure enough Riley is now breech. Not only is he breech but he wont have enough room to move even if he wanted to. The kid is coming in at 8.7 pounds give or take with two weeks to go. So with that said I was told that I will need to get a C-section next Wednesday November 4th. November 4th is my ultrasound due date but my Dr. is still going by my orignal due date of November 9th. If Riley decides he wants to come earlier then we will be doing an emergency C-section.
My thoughts on the C-section. Somehow I had a feeling this could happen. In my mind I always said I'm not really opposed to anything. I would prefer an epideral but if Riley came too fast I would deal. I prefered having him normal but if a C-section had to happen I would be ok with it. I think Heavenly Father was preparing me to be open minded about this. I know it seems only minor but coming from someone who has only had her wisdom teeth out and thats it a c-section seems a little scary. If anyone has "happy" words of advice for me please send them my way. And please oh please don't tell me your horror stories. I hear enough of them at the hospital LOL.

Baby Bump Update!
Here is me at 35 weeks. I am now at 37 weeks but not much belly bump has changed. So far I am still feeling great! I still work full time 12 hours shifts at the hospital and am on my feet all day. A Few days ago we had a code at the hospital and I starting running towards the patients room. As I was running a cute little old man said to his wife "man she moves fast for being pregnant" LOL it was probably a site to see. The patients are always amazed of how well I move still even though I'm pretty much nine months pregnant. I may waddle but I still feel great!
One new adventure I was just recently introduced to is acid reflux. Its not the party it sounds like but with a little anti-acid it easily goes away. I for the most part still sleep well through the night but I hear once Riley is born that will all change. I haven't had swelling of my extremities yet too bad except for a little after a 12 hour shift. All and all I'm still feeling great. It would be nice though to meet lil' Riley soon :)
I had a depressing moment about a week back when I went to my 36 week appointment though. We went in for our regular appointment and Dr. Holmes like he always does told us that Riley is still HUGE. He's measuring 3 weeks bigger than he supposed to and no I do not have gestational diabetes... We just have big babies in our family. Dr Holmes then told us that it looks like he will be in there a few weeks after my due date because he's not ready to come out. I'm not dilated or anything... So not only is my kid possibly huge but he is stubborn. I don't know why I'm suprised. He is my child after all. I had to call my mom to cheer me up. After letting it soak in a little bit I've decided its not that bad of a thing. I am not uncomfortable or anything so I guess he comes when he's ready and thats good enough for me :) Dr. holmes did say though that if I do show progress he might induce me. I don't really want to be induced but if he thinks its a good idea I will trust the expert. All in all we are anxiously awaiting for the new arrival into our family.

A Shower of Love for Baby Riley!
So this post is a little delayed but in my defense I didn't have the pics to post with it. :) A few weeks ago my wonderful Sister-in-laws Leah and Brianne with my mom and mother-in-law threw a baby shower for baby Riley and me. It was so wonderful because I was able to see all of my friends and family especially some that I haven't seen in a very long time. We feel so blessed to have such a strong support system surrounding us.
For those of you that didn't know, Nolan and I have decided to name our lil' one Riley Dean Palmer. So my sister-in-law using her crafty skills created this banner for the shower. Nolan actually liked it so much that we hung it up in Riley's room. Go Leah!!

This is the front table of the shower so well decorated and crafty like.
Leah was the head party planner for this and did such a wonderful job. I'm so thankful to have such a wonderful sister-in-law in my family. I can honestly say she one of the sisters I never had growing up but I'm lucky enough to have for the rest of forever :) And Leah you need to grow a few inches so I don't look like a giant all the time. LOL
